I used to be so addicted to my Nina Live CD when it came out. I would listen to it before I sleep or while cleaning. When I used to ride the bus to school, I listen to Nina Live on my mp3. so it's no surprise for me that Nina got a Diamond Record Award. Here's my favorite song from Nina Live! The decision of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines is retroactive in effectivity to the date of original registration on July 7th, 2008. It likewise gives protection to Ms. Nakpil’s trademark right of ownership worldwide, as a result of the Philippines government’s participation in international intellectual property treaties and conventions."

Here are some fun facts about them straight from Jay!
- we are a post-hardcore outfit from tujunga, ca. basically we play heavy music with a lot of melodies in it.
- we're heavily influenced by bands like thrice, thursday, alexisonfire, glassjaw, funeral for a friend and filipino acts like typecast, urbandub, and the ambassadors.
- we just got natalia to sing for us this year, and recorded one song (a.c. green) with her. the other song, "bad clothes happen to good people" only featured her on guest vocals.
- we are in the process of writing our record/EP and hopefully will come out early next year
- we have played all over california in venues like the whiskey, chain reaction, no future cafe and the cobalt.
- a few weeks ago, we shared the stage with one of the bands we look up to, the ataris! :)

I am so used to Sugarfree singing songs in Filipino that hearing Ebe sing in English was just weird for me... Weird good though. hahaha =)
The number one thing i like about Sugarfree is that most of their songs are in Filipino and they use the language so smoothly in their music that everything just flows along.
Overall i LOOVVEDD Sugarfree's newest album. It's relaxing but it doesn't make you fall asleep. hahaha!
And one more thing... the little passport thingy that came with it is soooo cute! The sticker too! I'll put it on my binder that i bring to the studio when i do my show! =)
I can't figure out my most favorite song in the album yet but... Wala Nang Hihilingin is my best candidate. I <3 Sugarfree!

Rivermaya just released their newest CD, Closest Thing To Heaven. Not too long after that, Liza Guerrero Nakpil files a complaint that she owns the name Rivermaya and that the band cannot use that name anymore because Nakpil is not anymore affiliated with the band... Nakpil won.
My biggest question is that since naming the Rivermaya band as Rivermaya is now illegal, will they pull out Closest Thing To Heaven from record bars because of the use of the name Rivermaya???? hhhmmmm...
