Filipino Superstitions

Pregnancy
-All windows and doors should be wide open for the laboring mother’s easy delivery.

-A pregnant woman is not allowed to cut her hair, she will give birth to a bald baby.
-Pregnant women should not cry because they will suffer a difficult birth, and the baby will become sensitive and a crybaby.

General Health

-A menstruating woman should not eat sweets lest blood flow stop and cause illness or death.
-Let a dog lick your wounds, and the wounds will be healed.
-Sleeping with wet hair makes one crazy.
-Taking a bath at night will cause anemia or low blood pressure.
-Taking a bath on New Year’s Day and/or Good Friday will cause one to get sick.

MYMP The Unreleased Acoustic Collection

source: myxph.com

Contrary to some false updates, the band is strongly keeping up with all five members intact and working harder than ever. To prove such is the said release of their newest song collection.

We have all been familiar to the band’s acoustic show tune and pop rock approach, and it still hasn’t failed us. In this album, they tried to improve more on the sound, making sure each version of each revived song introduces their music’s distinctiveness over the other existing renditions. Juliet Bahala, MYMP’s new vocalist, shares her soothing performance of covers of the greatest hits of the 90’s such as, THINK OF LAURA (Christopher Cross), ‘TIL THEY TAKE MY HEART AWAY (Claire Marlo), POWER OF TWO (Emily Saliers), PIANO IN THE DARK (Brenda Russell) and BABY NOW THAT I FOUND YOU (John Macleod). The said songs topped the radio charts in their time and even the Filipinos’ most frequent song entries in the karaoke, making the album a must-have. Other songs included are SUPERMAN, FOREVER BLUE, CRUSIN’ , SOMEDAY WE’LL KNOW, DON’T DREAM IT’S OVER, BUSES and TRAINS, PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE, BREAKOUT and the carrier single SWAY (Bic Runga).

They say in psychology that the more you want to forget something, the more it sticks to your head. We hope it works here,” said Michael. It probably will in their case, considering their history for making it against the odds. According to lead vocalist Artita, he didn’t even know how to sing just

(English)
Boy 1:"What's the hell is that fool doin' there?"

Rico Blanco released "Kahit Walang Sabihin"

There is no doubt that Rico Blanco is a gifted musician and performer. His success as a recording artist and his fanbase can attest to this, as well as his staying power in the music industry. His words and music have chronicled not only his own journey as an artist, they spoke to lives of his fans, and even casual listeners as well. Even after launching his career as a solo artist in 2008, he presented even more artistic bones with every project he’s immersed into.

Ever exceeding his artistic limits, Rico effectively turned into an actor as he took on the role of Lucas in the TV series “Imortal.” Acting, after all is an extension of his being a...

Folk U!

source: myxph.com

If you're a huge music fan, you'll know that you'll never run out of gigs to watch within the Metro. From Eastwood up north, to Metrowalk in Ortigas, to the homey comforts of Saguijo and The Collective in Makati, there will always be someone playing good music to watch. But in case you're getting tired of hearing amped guitars and heavy drum beats, maybe it's time to check out something else.

That right there is a dilemma. Is there an alternative to alternative music as we know it? Smart of you to ask, and fortunate of you that we have the answer. If you want to just spend the night chilling with a glass of your preferred Below Zero beer and swaying to gentle beats and melodic croons, raise your hand and say, "Folk U!"

Good Day Skabeche!

source: myxph.com

On its eleven years of being together Skabeche as a band, there is one thing that really makes them united—it is their love for the country and for what is essentially good about the Philippines as a whole as they showcase it in every music video they have.
In their latest music video titled, ‘Good Day’ is one that simply narrates a story of a mad doctor that imprisoned all the rest of the band members, but all of them struggled and got their freedom. The song’s lyrics are not even about love, but it is simply describing the surroundings around them. It’s freeing them and enjoying the new day they all have.
